I went for a drive today n came across a Lotus Elise, I've never really took any notice of these cars, but when he opened it up n fucked off in the fast lane, it sounded surprisingly nice, I believe it the k series engine one.
When I got home I had a little look at buying costs, reviews and specs and FOOOOOKIN HELL. The oldest version is like £5k+ and the specs are awesome. Under 6seconds to 60mph and no more than 130bhp!!
What do guys think of these?

I like them, but a little pricey if you ask me.

The ones I like the most which look amazing are way out of my price range, not even sure what spec they are but I know they are 10k+ Used.......

Lovely cars, I drove an Exige around Silverstone a few years ago, not driven anything like it, the grip was amazing although lift of oversteer at 70 gets the bum going.

Nothing wrong with the k-series engine in these, people do upgrade to other power units however or at least have the money to modify the k to a big power output and have it built properly so it doesn't go bang every 5 minutes. Not a cheap hobby though!

I quite like the k series engines and have been looking at mg zr's with this lump aswell as a big favorite of mine clio 172 cup :)

It's a good lightweight engine when built right but suffers from bodges and poor maintenance. ZRs handle nicely and can be quick with a 220gti t series engine swap

I've never really been a fan of engine swaps tbh, I believe what ever engine in the car should be good enough, if not buy a few mods or buy something better :)
For example: I want to add a cam n throttle bodies to my vtr, all I get is just buy a vts lump... but then it would be a vts.. and not a cammed n bodied vtr.. sorry for rambling liike :)

Was following, or attempting to follow, one of these on Saturday morning. They do look rather nice and appear to go rather well.

I once banged my knee on the roof of a VX220 trying to get in.

Think how your hippo-esque girls would feel!

Wouldn't be a problem because I'd never get one!

As a fellow BMW driver I'm insulted that you think I'd downgrade from the luxury of my 7 series to a Vauxhall.
definitely not looking for a Monaro at the moment either.

i had one with the K series in it, not fast in a straight line but quite scary what they can do pushing on through B roads

So why have you posted thousands of posts on citroen saxo forum if you own a businesses boy, rodger lad, bmw?
Serious question pal, im interested to know the similarities of a saxo and 7 series, that put vauxhall comfortability to shame :)

I'm interested to know why you missed the white text that mentions that I'm looking to buy a Vauxhall?

I also used to have a Vectra...

Vauxhalls in general are shit though, there is no denying that.

As for the similarities between a Saxo and 7 series? Wheels. Why is it better than a Vauxhall? Jeremy Clarkson said so.

As for why I have thousands of posts, because the banter on here is good and there is no rule that states you can't post on here when you don't own a Saxo, which I used to own many moons ago.

I tried to tell you this I think... I'm sure I tried repeatedly to make you get a Passat instead of a Vectra!

My mate had a VX220, and there was a 10 inch shelf of fiberglass to climb over between your seat and the outside world!

The seat was also metal, with about 2mm of cloth over it!

Better value for money with the VX, more powerful, and handle just as good as they are pretty much the same car underneath.

The VX220 Turbo is more comfortable, as they have some touring pack thing.

I looked at buying one years ago after I sold my vts , they are great wee cars , ok typical lotus problems but they are really cool , vx220 turbo is a bit better though by all accounts
