Need some advice please guys
Have noticed recently that my wife's mk1 SX smells of rotten eggs after she's been out in it and parks up.
My first thoughts were the cat converter on its way out,but any other ideas would be appreciated. There does not seem to be any rattle from it though.
Also if it is the cat can they be replaced by itself or is it built into the exhaust system?

Cheers as usual
Pete

Worse after short trips? I would expect it's the cat and normally a quick blast up a duel carriageway in 4th rather than 5th helps.

Initially I thought this topic was in the Health & Fitness section, and I was going to suggest you check to see if you'd shit yourself.

However, it isn't.

Carry on.

The rotten smell is from the battery.......

Get it changed because the gases that produce this smell are highly flammable and not good for your health.

Pop the bonnet and smell in and around the battery,if its strong there you'll know for sure.
