Hello there,if i want to use a kill switch just to quickly disconnect the battery how should i wire it? just need to cut the positive and plug it into each of the 2 studs of the switch? No need for an earth?
Many thanks.

Problem with doing it that way is that the car will carry on running via the alternator

You should earth it to stop it doing damage when you cut it with the engine running I believe. A quick explanation stolen from another forum I'm on:
"The big terminals need to be connected in line between the battery, and everything else.
The normally open terminals, (off when the cut off is switched off) need to isolate the ignition, either coil, or ecu supply .The other 2 terminals, one needs to come from the "everything else" big terminal on the cut off, the other to the resistor, and the other leg of the resistor to earth. "

Yes i know,i won't disconnect it when the engine is running,i would only need it as a quick way to disconnect the battery when the car is off to work on it or to be sure that anything doesn't keep getting power from the battery if i need to leave the car off for several days.

What's the difference between connecting it to the negative cable or to the positive one? The seller says it has to be connected to the negative cable, just trying to understand.
Thanks.
