Seen this for sale with North Yorkshire RS Spares and just had to have it. Was too cheap and rare (and rare looking) to pass up.

Usual XR4Ti spec:
2.3 8v "lima" Turbo with few wee odds and ends done. (silicone boost hose, 3dr cossie interior, wanky mk2 mondeo wheels)

For people who don't know what it is, have a read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merkur_XR4Ti

It was being raced by Andy Rouse prior to the Sierra Cosworth being born, and his feedback to Ford SVO/SVE in Boreham, helped Ford develop the Sierra Cosworth.

Initial Plans:

Give it a good buff and tidy up
4x4 Sapphire Cosworth wheels off my Flint Grey car

Plans down the line:
-30mm springs
17" Comp MO6s in grey to match the bottom half
Polish the Cam cover
Enjoy it.

Mate had an XR4x4 when we first passed our tests in the mid 90's.... Loved it!

What's the deal with the speedo??

It's a yank set of clocks. So I would say they only have it showing as far as 80mph, as anything beyond that and the 5-0 would have busted caps in peoples asses!!

I think you will find, when a Ford built car is concerned, the red is where is blows a head gasket haha

I was looking at this one, doing the man maths if i could afford it! Did you pay what they were asking or did you put in an offer?
