Nerds, how many miles do you lot drive back and forth to McDonalds every day, and how many earth miles per gallon of fuel are you getting?
I'm yet to get a level on the new car, thank god!, but I use the Roadtrip app for the iphone and it says that over 44k my average miles per day in the 320d (2007 163bhp manual saloon) was 33, and it did an average 38mpg
That's my work commute, general life such as school runs and dogging :y:

36mpg is the best I've managed in the S3, trip computer averaged it at 41mpg... typical!
That was 350miles 80% of which were on the M1 at 65-70mph

Made a trip up to Cheshire yesterday, 160 mile round trip and the first longish trip I've made in the golf, but it averaged 68mpg. Around town, to work and back I usually see about 45.
Cheap :)

I bought an A6 estate on friday. 1.9tdi. It's slightly more fucked than I thought, but that's what happens when you let someone else look at it and drive it and make a decision on their opinion!

Usually £50 will get me around 70-80miles as a rule of thumb when i'm doing general commuting.
Long runs down the motorway I can get 30mpg if i'm doing 50mph.
Zero fucks given, may as well take full advantage of the petrol while it's here.

My work is about 1.2 mile away. So some days i will only do about 2.5 miles if i don't need to go elsewhere. Shops just around the corner for groceries so i walk. Some days i use the other halfs 307 though for work etc.
Its cheap enough to insure, and for the mileage i do, only uses about £40 a month on fuel.
Its better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Country lanes etc. with the occasional blip i could probably get close to that.
Stopping at traffic lights, the occasional bit of traffic and numerous short trips take it's toll unfortunately.
Yes lead foot, plus on overrun above 3750revs it chucks petrol thru the system just the same for them pops and bangs which is hardly helping the mpg any.
Keeps a smile on my face though, rather get shit MPG in something i love rather than amazing MPG in a really dull car. Especially as i don't have to commute that far to work etc.

Currently averaging 34.4 MPG.
Needs EGR and Inlet Manifold cleaned out and will hopefully start returning better MPG.
