Hi all.
Just bought a 1999 saxo vtr with a vts engine fitted.
The cooling fan was wired to run all the time due to fibreglass bonnet and no airflow through the rad.
The wiring has been cut to the fan and routed straight to an ignition source.

Anyway, here is a photo of the RHS of the cylinder head (as viewed from the front)

The brown sensor has no plug to it. I'm assuming it has something to do with the fan.

How is the fan wired on the VTS? Anybody got a good photo I can use to find out how it used to work?

Thanks for any help.
Andy.

Not being funny but is that pictures from the running car?

Is that some sort of pikey oil cooler conversion where they've blanked the cooler off?

Yeah. It looks as if its never been plumbed in!
Got a bit of work to do!

Andy.

looks like they've used the VTR top hose without the heat exchanger take offs. Why not just remove the the whole thing? as long as there is a whole in the bumper then the bonnet wont matter so much.
If this is using a single plug setup, which I assume it is being a '99, then you need to rewire it with the temperature sender in the rad inside the fan circuit so it can bring the fan on and off depending on coolant temp.

Brown sensor is part of the air-con setup.
You don't have it, so not needed.
