Gearbox left in plastic bag for 2 years.

Will a gearbox left sitting around for 2 years be okay to use with an oil change or is it likely to be seized?

Try the input shaft and see. As long as it's been dry I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be ok

Depends on of the bad had been sweating in the heat

Had a 1.1 box on my back yard out through two heavy snow falls and months of rain, was pretty rat look but desperate times called for desperate measures it went in one of my cars, it was initially crusty and didn't want to turn, covered it in wd 40 in and out, used some wire wool on the input shaft and changed the drive shaft seals, was absolutely fine slight bit of wine when decelerating against the engine and if you gave it death the sincro didn't like it from 3rd to 4th, so I think you will be absolutely fine, get some of those dehumidifier moister absorber gell packs to go in the back with it
