Radio static

My radio is clear but as soon as i start my car up it goes all static. would one of these help?

Sort of but this is hiding the fault not fixing it. you have a grounding fault somewhere on the audio set-up. Check earth wires,connectors and points for the following:

Stereo

Any amps

speakers

aerial antenna (located behind the interior light)

Also if you had to use an adaptor to attach the standard aerial to the stereo ensure its clipped in properly.

Also any new ground points you may have done ensure its attached to bare metal not over paint also to solid metal not flimsy metal and ensure the connectors to the ground point are bare metal not gold or painted.
