Sportex fitting

Hi guys well I'm lost as I've just had my sportex back box and race pipe delivered and the holes on the straight though pipe from the cat has different holes to the normal pipe for the 2 washer things to fit into, the normal saxo exhaust fitting kit has 2 round spacers to fit into the pipe but they won't fit into the sportex one, I spoke to the people I got it from an they said they just use washers to stop the bolts from pulling though now :/ has any one else come across this? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/09/na9y9uty.jpg

I got a bolt kit for where you need from my local motor factor a few weeks back. It came with a few different size cup insert things and shoulder bolts. Was only a fiver so it might be worth a punt.

Just use thick penny washers and a high tensile bolt and a nut with a nyloc thread, you'll still need to use the springs.

Yes I'll use the springs etc but just seems a bog job and I'm far from happy with that :/

I got a Bolt-Washer-washer nut on mine does the job

Just makes me laugh as it's a simple round hole to drill so why are they not putting it there? Or supplying the kit to fit it?????

I'm sure that if you went to an exhaust place with the sportex they'd be able to supply what you need,for the price of a few drinks.

In the end I just drilled the holes out on the flang and used a normal fitting kit! But I've emailed sportex giving them a mouth full about it an will wait to see what they have to say!!!! Cheers though guys!

That would annoy me too not having the right fitment but saying that I stay away from sportex branded exhausts since I had a manifold from them, the welds on the front where it joined the engine got in the way of the nuts so they didn't sit flat and the gearbox mount was flimsy too better off paying a bit more for some better quality in my opinion!

I had Hoffman and it was the same, bolt and washers and it's been fine. Year before I used the standard cups with the kit with longer bolts and that worked too
