One was at Kames, it was slower than the VTSs and VTRs, though thats on a twisty track, should be similar straight line as standard. Very different cars. I am refering to the Golf, not the Rado

My mate has a Corrado (whatever way you spell it) it's the supercharged version. I dont know power outputs or anything like that but it accelerates like a mofo

Barry123
6th September 2006, 16:24
no i'd raise my index finger at him and tell him he's a chav...
then put my neons on.
by the way? get away with what? I've never felt insulted by someone revving their engines

i dont get u lot, y have a quick car if u dont use it, or maybe u all drive furios
hesslevtr
6th September 2006, 16:34
theres a time and place to use it
the road isnt one of them especially racing
il hold my hands up and say i speed but only in the right area at the right time

so.. you say, whats the point in fast cars, and not using them.. well.. whats the point in speed limits, and not obeying them?!
as paul said.. there's a time and a place.. and the place definately isnt the road.. likewise, i speed. but i do 35-40.. thats it.. and only in certain places, otherwise it just gets stupid
CampDavid
6th September 2006, 16:37
I must confess I will try and keep up with quick stuff on the road, only corss country in 60 limits though, never pushing the car too far. Straight line races are just gay. Keeping up with a clio 182 cross country in say an auto 106 is cool
hesslevtr
6th September 2006, 16:37

Actually speeding in 30s is a big no no. Speed in 60 limits, not where pedestrians are about, its just too unpredicatable

people like you racing around everywhere thinking your everything that puts my insurance up, and its people like you who are too busy watching the car beside you, to check if your in front or not, to see a little kid run in the road....
point is... your a loser

Still, I'd be careful. I've had so many near misses in 30 limits through no fault of my own, people walking out in front of me, really scares you. Also, 41mph in a 30 = 6 points in a lot of courts

i seriously hope your car is modified and not declared because when (not if) you crash, you'll be fucked!!!
ALL my mods are declared and its because people like you that we have to pay high insurance premiums.
people that race on public roads are quite simply knob heads.

6th September 2006, 20:40
Leave racing on the tracks mate. It's not worth the risk to race someone because they were revving their car beside you or whatever.
By all means, if you were chased by a nutter who had a gun shooting at you then maybe putting your foot down is recommended!! :)

Ive skipped over the usual stupidness of racing on public roads this time round simply for one fact:
LIKE F**k DID YOU LEAVE A VR6 FOR DUST! Ive driven many cars including a VTS, many small hatchbacks and my old man has a VR6 which i took round a track and i can tell you for a fact (0-60 might be reasonably similar depending on the driver the difference is so slight) but after that the VR6 would leave it for dead.

The golf is slower than the VTS, the Rado is a touch faster as standard. I have never been left for dead by another standardish FWD hatchback
Barry123

yours isnt exactly standard though is it dave?
CampDavid
7th September 2006, 10:18
No, but to be honest, "being left for dead" implies a complete trogging. A Focus RS wouldn't leave a VTS for dead, it'd beat it, but not leaev it for dead
