Yes, wrong section and all that jazz!
Think this guy got a bit angry with a tailgater and decided to stop in the fast lane.....
0:20secs long.

hang on, if you count when they pass the posts and stuff it's 2 seconds no?
so how bad was the tailgating?
I'd take the the license of the pug driver like

True, he might have been tailgating or doing something else prior to what's being shown in the video though.
If you look closely you can see the pug driver make some sort of hand signal before he gets Elton John'd!

WOYYYY. What a knob. I feel sorry for the lorry chap who was rear ended first.
LOL.

Idiots hogging the outside lane leads to tailgating. There is no excuse for holding everyone up in the overtaking lane, if you don't want to drive fast or the cars not up to it GTFO simple. No excuse for tailgating but if people annoy each other it's obviously going to happen, I don't tailgate because I don't want chips so usually a little run up clear indication you aren't fucking around usually people just move over before you reach them but anyway lol.
We can only speculate what went on before but I'd imagine the plank in the pug was hogging and the lorry driver wanted him to move over so he could overtake (bare in mind how long it takes to build speed etc in a lorry), probably got rather pissed and tried to move him along a bit. Pug driver obviously a cock, at the end of the day he caused it all by stopping.
If I was that lorry driver, regardless who started it before I'd clomp him hard for that. Wonder what went in to the lorry and how they fared!
If everyone respected other road users and used the lanes as instructed the motorway would be less a chore. Tailgating would be less likely to happen journeys wouldn't take as long etc obviously people would argue driving x faster won't make much of a difference to journey times but it really can depending on road conditions throughout the journey. Like hitting a traffic hotspot 10 mins earlier can save big time.

This is where dash cams come in useful.
Because on paper in an insurance claim the pug would be the only driver in this scenario not at fault would he not?
Fucking idiot, I seriously hope it was a lorry that ploughed into the back of the lorry taking the video. It would seem so given the force but if that had been a car at the back there would likely of been a fatality.

That is simply unacceptable!!!
I think tailgating is not a right move , but it is simple logic if the car/lorry/bike behind you has caught up , he clearly wants to go faster....... let him pass , end off!

What an idiot! That dash cam has just saved a lot of hassle.. More people should think about getting one, they're cheap enough! Luckily, i live about 60 miles from a motorway, so don't have to worry about pricks on them too much..
Instead, i get the golden oldies doing 30mph over the moors, and slamming on to look at the scenery
I still don't understand why they actually stopped lol

There's an article about this here: http://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/2014/1/17/-crash-for-cash-fraudulent-claim-prevented-by-camera/49336/
Not sure how legit that website is but it says the Peugeot driver was a fraudster trying to cause a 'crash for cash' incident.
Imagine if that guy didn't have a dash cam and got done for dangerous driving - could've been very frustrating trying to prove his innocense.

Ah well that'd make sense. Must have some big balls to do that tho!

That would make perfect sense to be honest, literally lure people into tailgating such as that scenario and slam on the brakes for no reason... Obviously if no video evidence is capture then it would be hard to claim the Pug driver had done this...
Hefty fine and loss of license imo.

Totally disagree.
If I'm doing the legal speed limit or just above in the outside lane and I'm passing what ever is in the lane too my left I have every right to stay out there for as long as I like!
If I'm slowing some one up that wants to do 85-90-100 etc then tough luck.
I pay my tax, my car is insured etc so I have every right to do it.
Do I give a flying duck if it annoys you?
Nope as our paths will likely never cross again.
Could I speed up , yep my car is more than capable but why should I .

It's people who share your attitude that end up in arguments.
So what did you miss? the word hogging. You've grasped the concept of the overtaking lane, for passing that is fine yes. It's when people are not passing and sit like cunts at the speed limit or often under that get tailgated.
At the end of the day, you're right in that you pay your tax and wouldn't give me your flying duck and it's true you can do whatever you like but one day you'll get a really hot headed fucktard who will take it further than just pushing you up the motorway.
Seen it before, guy was driving under the limit holding up a huge queue of traffic. People were forced to break the law and undertake or put up but mostly the opportunity to undertake wasn't there. A guy in a van started getting aggy because he'd obviously just had a hard day graft and was being held up by this plonker. Anyway the guy in front waving his arms around slowed further and started getting lemon out the window and even chucking crap out.
Anyway to cut a long story short the Van man managed to get along side him as the guy was giving it' and asked him politely to pull over. Obviously the other guy shit the bed and wanted out of the situation he got himself in to. Few miles up there was a big que of traffic so the van driver went to have a word with him. Guy locked himself in the car while the van man was trying to open it up. All the guy had to do was move his heap over and let others progress... I'm betting he hasn't done that for a while.
I'm not suggesting it should happen to twits like that, but everyone is different and the last thing you want is a 6ft + scaffy on your case just because you want to day dream in the overtaking lane.

It's about common courtesy, your obviously aware of what you're doing and using the lane as it should be used to overtake. If you sit in it just to slow others down then you're an annoying bell end.
I have no issues with lorries crawling past each other as at least when they make the overtake they return to the inside lane. People who just aimlessly sit out there as they are clueless need educating, people who sit out there just because they have nothing better to do are asking for trouble and one day they might regret doing so if you come across the wrong kind of person.

You're actually wrong, it's not tough luck. I believe it's actually you that's in the wrong by obstructing traffic, regardless of whether they want to break the speed limit or not.

I think you will find that as I'm doing the legal speed limit in a fully road legal car and I'm passing what's to my left I am perfectly in my right to do it.
If people don't like it then tough!
If they decide to go a step further and break further laws then that is up to them.
The fact I drive as part of my living , come from a family of proffesional drivers(my father in law is a chief test examiner) so I am fairly clued up on the law, reading the high way code is something drivers should continue to do once they have past there test but I bet hardly anyone on here has looked at it since they qualified

I still think you're wrong.
The fast lane is for overtaking. You may be doing the limit, but if others choose to go faster and break the law then so be it. It's not exactly hard to flick on your indicator and change lanes.
I have to say if I drove up behind you sat in the fast lane, refusing to budge with a huge line of cars behind I'd be pretty piddled off..
Edit: I think I may have misunderstood you aswell. I also thought you meant you sit in the outside lane at 70mph refusing to budge lol

If you're only there to pass whatever is to your left, then obviously you're going to move back in when you've passed it, you can't just sit there indefinitely, which would meet the definition of your "as long as you like".
Which way do you want it? Are you just over taking, or are you hogging the lane for as long as you like?
The fast lane is for overtaking.
Given that all lanes have the same speed limit (and minimum speed on a motorway) remind me which is the fast lane please?

In this case, (the video in original post) it's the lane in which the crash happened. Overtaking lane I should have called it.
The overtaking lane is for overtaking!
