I have some questions for you Saxo Gods!
Ok, for a start, where is the Cat on a 2000 1.1 Saxo? Is it the part straight after the manifold?

Also, my backbox has completely corroded, and will literally slide back and forward on the little bit of pipe that connects it to the centre pipe. The join is pretty corroded also, so would I need a new backbox and centre pipe, or would just a new backbox do?
The pictures show where the backbox meets the couple inches of pipe it connects to (which it can freely slide along) and also the join where the backbox pipe meets the centre pipe.

Lastly, could I order a new backbox (if that's all that is needed), take it to a garage, and get them to fit it for me?
Thanks everyone!:y:

Also, a lot of parts I've looked at say either 96-Sept 2000 or Sept 2000-2004, so I have no idea which ones to get, because on the MOT it says estimated first use September 2000...slap bang in between the 2 dates. Its a Forte, if anyone has any ideas?

Firstly tighten the clamp shown in the picture, that should stop it sliding back and forward of the join.

Secondly, both your back box and centre pipe looks fairly corroded, you may as well just get a new centre pipe and back box. I have a centre pipe and back box for sale which I can post for you if you like, it's of a VTR so you could also cut a small recess in the bumper and you would then have a chrome tip.

The exhaust is held on by essentially 2 sets of bolts and some rubber hangers, if you can jack the car up then you can replace it yourself, very quick and easy to do and will save a garage ripping you off.

Its not the clamp, thats tight, it's so corroded that the pipe has just completely broken away from the back box. :P
Is it easy enough to fit the centre pipe at the other end as well, at the cat? Also, do you have any idea whether my parts would need to be the pre September 2000 type or the post September 2000 type?

Post september as you have a MK2. May as well just get a new centre pipe and back box.

Very easy, just clamped together with two springs bolts. PM me if you have any more questions or want to sort out a deal on my exhaust i've got for sale.

Thanks for the help buddy! I'll message you if I get stuck. :)
I don't really wanna be cutting my bumper though so I'm gonna buy a 1.1 system. :)

Could always just buy the centre pipe of me then a new back box is pennies, about £20 if you shop around. My centre pipe can't be anymore than a few months old, its as new.
