Has to be clocked haha :homme:
I would well believe it, old Merc's / Audi's / Volkswagon's are very reliable if you look after them.
I was in a 97 Audi A4 taxi with over 500K a year or go.

92k I reckon, its worth about 5p with 920k on it
92k all day long. Look at the interior photo. Seat is fine, and pedal rubber is commensurate with 100k or so.

German cars are reliable?
The above statement seems to be believed by a lot of people these days, usually a statement made by someone who hasn't looked into it one bit.
Seems the German build quality that you witness on the interior has fooled people into thinking a German car is reliable!

Any car can go wrong/have a common fault. My golf diesel is known for flywheel replacements etc - still lasted 80k and I budgeted for changing it.
Far more reliable than any of the French cars I've had (106 gti, 1.4 206, saxo vtr, VTS and 307 xsi).
Mercs have been running the one million mile competitions for some time now. The engine seems to hold up, now how much is it to maintain everything else.
