Temperature

Hi All

Got back to my car after work the other day in the car park and noticed a pool of water under it. I thought "mmmm thats seem bad!". I took it to the petrol station to get some water in there and then set off on my way for it to overheat badly! Got RAC out and he recked it was the radiator had a small leak. its in the garage on friday for them to ave a look.

The reason for this post is since RAC man put water in the car it has not run as hot as it used to. It used to run at 3/4 up the temp gauge now it sits at 1/2 majority of the time.

My saxo is a 98 VTR black top. I've heard other people saying their saxo runs at 3/4 at temp and others at 1/2.

What temp does yours run at? and what phase and colour top do you have?

Just to give the garage an idea?!?

mine sits at halfway, just above in traffic. although not sure why you need to know, you obviously have a problem ( as you've been told) as the cooling system is sealed so should never lose fluid. it's running cooler after he put water in it because you've been driving around with little/no coolant in it if it's been leaking and you weren't aware. fit the new rad and problem solved.
