Hiya folks.
Looking to upgrade my 08 Honda Civic Diesel to a 530d 5 series.
Just wandering if anyone on the site owns one?
Would like to know about reliability issues, any known problems etc!

Seen alot of auto's and not too many manuals.
Any help would be great chaps and lass's! :y:

I've got an E61, I love it, spacious city, I'd say make sure you get one that has all the toys you want or it'll do your nut

I've already decided it needs the Full Leather etc :)
Was looking at petrol ones but a 530d seems to be the best mix of performance and running costs!

I think Nappa is the one to get if it's an option, I'd go auto, I didn't like my manual derv BM

You can put the vin into a site and it gives you all of the options.

To get the VIN you can whack the reg into their warranty site.

Also I'd get one sub 60k miles and warranty it, once you go over 60k it's £££

also, if you pay monthly it will always remain the same price, so when you go over 60K miles it doesn't increase in cost, ching!

If you pay the warranty in full each year in 1 payment it will go up and up and up, random I know

I've seen one Nappa but the majority seems to be Dakota.
Cheers for the help chap! I have been tempted by the automatic as the running costs aren't too much dearer than the manuals!

Whats the automatic like reliability wise do you know bud? Sorry for all the questions just like to learn abit about it first :)

I've never heard anything bad about it really, also I just hated commuting in the manual.

Are you looking SE or M-Sport?

That's fair enough dude. Went reading through the reviews on Autotrader and it seems like a good bet!

I love the look of the M-Sport but I also like the subtlety of the SE!

The SE will be waft spec, the M-Sport on runflats will rattle your teeth out, and they're pretty stiff on normal tyres too
