1.1 wont start has spark

My 1.1 wont start and i am far from a mechanic but dont mind working with cara bike etc it has a spark and i have just got a new fuel filter anything else to look for if the car wont start?? The car turns over and the revs go up a little up it just wont fire up

I would first check the crank sensor (on the front left of the gearbox bell housing), make sure that is clean of any oil and is correctly clipped in as that can cause start up issues (my vts did it yesterday). If that's all okay I would be listening to see if the fuel pump is priming when you first turn on the ignition as there could be fuel starvation issues.

Whine noise on ignition before starting. What have you done to it since it last started happily?

Yeah i get the whine noise the crank sensor was connected fine just re inserted it changed fuel filter still wont start makes a bang/popping noise when trying to start

Ignition on and off five times, hear the fuel pump whine, do that five times without trying to start it and on the fifth time, try and start it!

just dont that it semed like it started theni put gas on and it died but battery has died ( on charge now ) seems like when i put gas on while starting it make a pop/bang think it may be flooded?
going to let it charge a while then try again just cranking engine over but not putting gas

just got it started but it sounds really rough like spluttering when gas is pressed quickly it cuts out but gently it sounds rough

ok got it started if i accelerate quick it splutters and cuts outbut if i do it steady it seems fine just checked oil and it seems low but my garden is on a bit of a slope

Pull the fuel rail out. See if they pump fuel out

turns out it needed topping up with oil...total noob lol lesson learn though normally check it like but lol
