I'm not a film fan in general, but I watched Harry Brown recently - such a good movie! Michael Caine is an absolute legend IMO :y:
I thought the wolf of wall street was extremely over rated! Was funny at times but overall I didn't think it was good and it was too long

Yes it's basically a jail broken android tv box thing running xbmc. I'm not massively clued up on them, a friend got one and was impressed so I bought one, since then 2 othrr guys in the office have bought one.
http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/261238326596?cmd=VIDESC
They vary in price and you can get them cheaper but thrre are a lot of cheap imitations about, buy cheap buy twice and all that. As per link I paid £70 for mine as they develop their own apps, offer support and it has a full system restore etc. And there is no subscription just your internet connection.
you can stream anything... live sports, boxsets currently in america but not england for instance, any international tv, movies in cinema etc. and even 3d movies and endless porn etc.
Watching the frotch fight on mine with a few friends this weekend also, and I watch a lot of ufc and will lend it my little cousin for instance if he wants to watch a ppv gay ass wrestling special or something.

The box you want is Airbox Spain.
It's £300 and then after a year you pay about £60 a year. You get all the sports channels, PPV and there is also a direct link to a massive film streaming archive.

Kellys heroes... best film ever
^^^ one rare instance of me agreeing with Mr Peel.
T2 extended cut for me yesterday. One of the few films I bought again and again on vhs, then dvd, then directors cut dvd, then limited edition extended cut dvd, then extended cut bluray.
Blade Runner tonight.

12 years a slave pissed me off, purely because it took an oscar away from di caprio, for the wolf of wall street... Purely because people thought they should vote for 12 years a slave, rather than what they wanted to vote for

Didn't mind Fury, yes it was a bit "murica" but they stuck to the confirmed body count in the film, so everyone you see in the film dying actually happened (and probably a few more unconfirmed).
Not so much a film but I'm really enjoying watching Orange is the new black on Netflix. Angry lesbians with their boobs out - what's not to like?
The Chernobyl Diaries was a decent concept for a zombie-esque thriller but it didn't really pull through. Lots of cheap scares.

On a movie binge as i've slipped a disc and trapped a nerve.
The interview.
Slowest start to a movie i've ever seen, few funny bits as it warms up but then goes downhill again and just gets real stupid. Wouldn't watch it again or recommend it apart from saying you've watched it. My mate found it funny though, so each to their own.
American Sniper & Lone Survivor
Never watched lone survivor, kind of missed it on sky etc. so gave it a watch on recommendation.

The Iceman. A true story based on a contract killer, he killed over 200 people and led a secret life with his family. Seriously awesome film, I then watched his actual interviews on youtube too, found it very interesting.

Watched American Sniper last night, after wanting to watch it for a while.
Very disappointed, the guy himself it was about deserved much better imo. It wasn't a patch on lone survivor.
Quite a shame as it could of been soo much better.
I thought so too, my bloody external hdd has broken inconveniencing me more than anything but now I've gotta redownload all the films I was planning on watching hmmphh.
Anyway last night I watched "Beyond the pines" it was quite good, 7/10.

Best sniper film I've watched is 'Shooter' with Mark Wahlberg.
Other than that, for action I enjoy any of the Jeremy Bruckheimer films but Bad Boys 1 & 2 top it on that list.
Inspirational drama 'Boy in the Striped Pyjama's' is tough to beat (WW2 Jewish concentration camps)
Romcom(wifes agree's only for Jude Law) is 'The Holiday'
Proper head peck who's dunnit is 'Law Abiding Citizen' with Gerard Butler and Jaimie Foxx. favourite film by far

+1 for Enemy at the Gates being the best sniper film.
Watched both new Hurcules, preferred the version with the Rock.

Erm I have to conceed no to that. Shooter has the big bang hollywood feel to it compared to Enemy At The Gates which has that WW2 presence about it and huge tension created by the well written plot

see now i thought interstellar was one big massive head fuck.
what is it with movies being 3 hours long nowadays? seems to be a trend among the movies atm
Personally the best movie I've seen is probably either Fury or The Interview.
Fury has brilliant actors involved, you get a sort of 'saving private ryan' vibe but in a really good way and i think the story is generally quite incising. Oh and some of it was filmed 10 minutes away from where i live;)
The Interview was just full of laughter and i would definitely watch it again

Equaliser was good, but yet again Washington doesn't make shit films.

Just watched that. Dozens of Sony product placements for 2 hours, and sony licensed music throughout. Sony flat screens, sony monitors, sony tablets, sony vaios, and last but not least: every single character in this film owns a black experia z3, Denzel got the whole experia range on a table at some point. I got increasingly tired of having the sony logo shoved in my eyeballs every 2 minutes from beginning to the very end. And towards the end when they kill the power, the coca cola vending machine stays on. Come on.
Could have been a great film, instead I felt like I watched a 2 hours commercial, with massive plot holes. If nicolas cage or the rock had the role instead of Washington, it would have been a complete snooze fest. I ended up surprised not to see a couple of playstations in there. 3/10
If you want to see a genuinely badass russian bad guys movie, go watch "a history of violence" instead.

I like genuine films, not a made up world supposedly in Boston where every single character owns the exact same phone, which at some point even gets the sergio leone close up and the sony logo becoming a character outside of the story, I am glad not every film maker follows sonys' "way of the world" because that's not how you do a movie. With special appearances from pringles, new balance (surprise surprise, NB is based in Brighton, MA, meaning Boston) and colgate no less. I believe that would be because sony does not make crisps, running shoes or toothpaste.
Shame considering Director Fuqua and Washington previously made "Training day", great film with memorable dialogue. King kong ain't got shit on me etc.
I rank that turd as second just behind Irobot for being a commercial in disguise, with killing scenes plucked out of the saw franchise and often inconsistent. Boring as fuck, I forced myself to watch the end, and my palm did hit my face when the last scene is washington closing his vaio laptop. Fuck you sony.

I have Eastern promises too, great film :y:
Hans Zimmer is the God of soundtracks no doubt,
Keep in mind he has a little army of composers behind him after he ended up being head of Dreamworks' music department. Including Harry Gregson Williams, who has made some obvious work on Inception while Zimmer got the credit (some of the music in there sounds very "similar" to that off of metal gear solid 3, which he also made). That said, he still did some awesome work in there as he did get some fat, really heavy orchestral work based on time stretched sounds.
He's good, well actually more than just good, but he got caught out a fewf times for nicking other peoples' compositions. Notably ripped a lot from Holst and finally admitted it after a case that dragged on for years. See "Mars (the bringer of war)" being simply copied, barely re-arranged and called the german battle in gladiator. Epic music, but when you start digging, he does not deserve all the credit.

The last stand :homme:
You know you're watching a terrible film when knoxville steals arnie's show.
Now on the pedantic side, the bad guy drives a Camaro Zr1, supercharged 6.2l engine modified to push 1000 bhp. I am not sure how he managed to drive flat out all night AND the next morning without running out of petrol. I mean, that thing must do about half a mpg, so he must have a 200 gallons tank hidden somewhere. Rams it into ahnold's (slower so not sure how he kept up) Zl1 and barely a scratch.

Seemed quite good, especially to say it's the first episode and there is a lot of plot set-up to get going etc.
Glad a few of the Breaking Bad characters are being tied into it to, pretty sure I read somewhere that critics rate it in higher regard than breaking bad. I'll reserve judgement on that but if it's on par or not far off then i'll be happy to see it thru :y:
