Hello there,i was wondering if the standard oil cooler (for the VTS 16v) really does make a difference,i had another VTS previously and it didn't come with the oil cooler and by comparing it with the newer one i really did not notice any difference about the oil and water temperature, did anyone remove it and noticed any change without?
Thanks.

It's more an oil warmer rather than a cooler, gets oil up to temp faster. 106 gtis didn't get them or at least most didn't I believe. Reckon you'd be ok without it but if it works why mess? The standard oil temp gauge isn't very accurate however so maybe that's why you don't notice too much difference but then again there probably isn't much of one

That's what i've read too, mine looks good at the moment but i saw the replacement part cost around 200 on 106 parts, not sure i would replace it with a new one if it needs to be repaired but still a good amount of money.
I was thinking to put a water temp gauge and was thinking to fit a sensor to be connected between the 2 ends of the top radiator hose,if i do i wouldn't be able to keep the cooler.
Anyway it's just for my information other than anything at the moment,as said it's working okay so it will stay as it is for now. :y:
