Hi guys may be buying a dc2 1998 with 145000 miles the seller says up to 100,000 miles services were done by honda so of course the belt would have been changed around the 60,000 mile mark. If the seller has not changed it recently it will be due again in about 15,000 miles. How much would a local/backstreet garage charge for a timing belt change on these cars?

For any of you that are mechanics lol

Cheers all

If you supply belt pump and tensioner b series engines can be done in 4 hours so your looking at 200-250 if you supply parts.

There's a bloke on itr-dc2 that does cambelt, water pump & tensioner for about £250 fitted inc parts

Genuine cambelt
Genuine water pump
Koyo tensioner

I wouldnt be asking a back street garage to do it.

Find a reputable place. Seriously.

No, because if it fucks up, you'll be paying out your arse for a new engine. Have you seen the price them engines go for lol??

would hate to imagine. would love the knowledge and skills to do it but these type of jobs and not worth the risk unless its a saxo and you can drop an engine in cheap if you mess it lol
