What do you guys think of them?

I bought the Ministry of sound 'Pump it up' dvd today. It's very high energetic and i did the 5 minute warm up (i felt buggered then) then i did the 20 minute work out which basically meant dancing like a holligan (shame i cant be drunk doing it).

Do these actually work?. As i have explained previously i cant really afford to go to the gym and i as im working 6 days a week at the moment i dont have much time. It's like my diet has started from now. I realised that our works christmas party is due and i want to be able to wear a nice dress (not a tent which i would have to wear now!). Is it achievable to do this work out about 3 times a week and actually drop a good few dress sizes?.

I have also created a chart with my curent size on there ...ie...breasts, waist, hips, arms, thighs. My mother said she will measure me at the end of the week

Am i going about this the right way? I have also replaced crisps for fruit, chocolate for rice cakes and pop for water. Any help and i would be most greatful, its just i really want to lose this and look nice and girly for the party in december

Cheers

Hi

First of all losing weight is all down to will power really. Weather a person wants to gain muscle or lose weight, around 80% of it comes down to what you eat, Diet.

Just changing your diet can make a huge difference in your weight over weeks.

My advice:

Eat well, no sweets or pop. Have breakfast every morning, have lunch and then have dinner. Don't skip any of them. Drink lots of water everyday (as much as you pyshicaly can!)

Start exercising using that dvd

As for food

Breakfast.. maybe wheatabix and a slice of wholemeal toast an a apple or something. Best to get full stomach in the morning this will help you not want to snack in the day (people who skip breakfast end up snacking of crap up until luncH, crisps , choclate etc) + water

Lunch, sandwich on wholemeal bread.. maybe ham or chicken or something like that, again some fruit, banana and a peach or something. + water

dinner: cook up some lean meat here its important, maybe chicken breast and some veg and rice. A real meal

Id peckish later on (try not to eat after 7pm) have a sandwich again on wholemeal bread

That diet is just an example really - knock out all sweets , crisps and pop and ur onto a winner.

As for them dvds, personally... i think they are a rip off. You could jump up and down for 20 minutes - u will lose weight, dont need a fancy dvd.. etc.. BUT sayuing that, they do help motivate some people which is good

Boe,

Hopefully my advice might help you. Basically, you can still eat foods that you enjoy but choose foods lower in carbs, calories and fat (mainly saturated fat i think) if you do that alone you should notice some difference. Believe me jumping around like an idiot works!!!

Hooray for jumping around like an idiot.....I do it so well!

Personally i find exercise dvds (the more traditional variety) are a bit like going to classes at the gym - so a good alternative for you Boe, and anyone else if they feel they need someone to stand there and say "5 more times!" and "keep going!" stuff like that lol to motivate them to carry on.

It's a way of structuring your exercise at the end of the day, but unlike going to a step class or similar, it might get a bit repetitive after a while. Why not be a real student and get them out the library?? LOL!

lol i would lozi but i quit uni remember

Thanks for the advice leo, my mam has bought loads of wholemeal bread for us and stuff like weatabix and dried fruit etc. We now drink semi skimmed milk instead of full fat too. The dvd was only 7 pound so i cant really go wrong

To be honest its mad, i havent craved for crisps and the usual shit i eat, but my sister who is like a size 10 (big difference between us), she is craving for them and nearly giving in. It's cool because today i realised i do actually like salad too lol

Hey i am even trying to give up wine for a few weeks lol

just dont try and lose to much to soon, cause you will find the weight will drop off then when you start to allow yourself some treats it will come on again really quick! sounds like you got a good plan there, i really hope it goes well! lets us know!
