Trying to start my turbo vtr project, i'm getting no fuel into the rail, firstly, it has fuel ;) everything's connected, i'm not sure if I hear the fuel pump prime though, what else do I need to make sure?

Disconnect the fuel line from the rail, crank the engine over & check for fuel coming out of the line.

Grab hold of the relay and get someone to put the ignition on and you'll be able to feel it click if its working, and as for running a love to it , can go straight from the battery to the power wire on the plug to the fuel pump mate

Just done that, and yes I can feel it clicking, does that mean it's working then?

Right, fuel pump now primes have fuel in the rail :) i'd not done the earth at the back of the car up, now I don't have spark! i've took the coil pack off and turned it over, spark plug isn't sparking

Right, she nearly wants to go now, seems I may have dodgey wiring, as the fuel gauge cuts out sometimes until I move wires then it kicks back in, would the fact I have bigger injectors in cause it not to fire?

Doubtful, just will put more fuel in so it'll be rich

Just tried 3 different crank sensors, no luck, l turning over she keeps wanting to fire, then if I stop turning it over, runs literally for 2 seconds, lumpy as hell then dies, what have I done or not done :(

Could I have flooded the engine? I've put 15 quids worth of fuel in, now the gauge has the light on :n:

How's that happened, that's an awful lot of fuel to use trying to start. Sounds like there's a leak to me!

The gauge was playing up before I swapped it to this car would go up and down all the time :n: i've already looked round the whole car, no leaks, everythings connected

Could be an ecu issue this if there's no spark and you know the sensors are good. what is fitted and if it's oem stuff is it unlocked?

I have everything from my donor vtr, interior loom, engine loom, ecu all standard and from the same car which was running, I have no flashing key so it can't be locked, i've just removed a plug, and it reaked of petrol :n:

What's the best way to check spark, can I just remove the coilpack put a plug in, ground it, and crank the engine to see a spark?

Took the rail out with the injectors, sprays petrol, coil pack out, plugs in, sparks nicely, i'm hit a brick wall with this lol

Ok so there's fuel and spark, is the timing correct?

right it appears I don't have spark :n: I swear I did see it spark yesterday though, but now nothing, changed crank sensor and coil pack, starting to think my ecu is fucked?
