Right honkies,
Handily, I have a pair of driveshafts on my car.
The drivers side shaft with the intermediate bearing housing wouldn't come free of the bearing housing, so I pulled the engine with the shaft still connected.
I've now removed the shaft, basically it's fast in the bearing housing, but came out of the box fine. I unbolted the bearing housing from the engine and out it came. I've loosened the 2 shoulder lug nuts that would hold it in place, it spins freely enough, but will it fuck come out. Diagnosis? Is it fucked and needs replaced or should I just bash it back the way it came out? Shafts are <5k miles old, seem tight and fine, so it's not an unknown 130K knackered shaft, I installed it myself a year ago, went in fine then.
It's proppa fast like, used a pinchbar and all kinds and it wasn't shifting. I've liberally sprayed it with "loose this off ya bastard" etc, so I'll have another look later on.
Fucked / not fucked / doesn't matter?
