Ok so I've rebuilt the front end of my car, shut the bonnet....it now won't open. I pull the level inside and it doesn't do anything, I looks like the cable is slack even when I'm pulling the lever as much as it'll go. I have tried grabbing the wire with some pliers and pulling the cable myself etc but no luck :panic:
Any ideas of getting it open? Not fussed about breaking the locking mechanism as I have a spare

Currently, I have no idea bar pointing and laughing.

However, this week I have to refit my own slam panel, bonnet and release cable, so I suspect karma will come knocking then.

Until then though!

I had this I had to get the bumper off and then used something to push the lock to open it

Push down gently on the bonnet from where it latches, then put the lever inside the car.

Tried all the above and nothing worked! However I eventually, really simply reached through the gap in my grille where the release catch is, and I pulled the cable with my hand and it released the bonnet!
The pin/bar bit on my bonnet that goes into the mechanism is fooked! I have to bend it away from the bonnet, I shut the bonnet ok, it releases ok, then the next time I do it, the bonnet will not lock into the mechanism at all until I've bent the bar again :(

Best tie it down till it's sorted. you dont want it flying up and smashing the windscreen/rodd

If its not going to open then not much chance of this happening

Cable runs around back of headlight then round by the battery usually easy to find
