Okay so myself and a mate are doing a track day for the lols..
We need a cheap car that will get us there take some abuse and get us home..
Needs to be cheap to buy around £300 preferably with tax and test til September..
Doesn't matter what it looks like, doesn't have to be fast but nippy would be a bonus! What ever it is will be completely stripped and a pair of buckets and harnesses fitted (already got these)
Currently looking at a k11 micra 1.0 16v lol
I've looked at the usual corsa, punto, saxo / 106, Ka, fiesta, focus (older ones)
Now im struggling to find anything besides the micra I'm looking at!
Any opinions welcome!

Ford Puma 1.7 16v.
Go pretty well, handle superb.
Should get a rough, low t+t'er within budget.

as biased as it is on here lol.. for your price youre not gonna get much better than a vts wit a £20 set of lowering springs or even a puma as said theyre not bad either but probs find a vtr/s cheaper

Yeah a vtr or Tired vts. Or maybe something like a mg zr. Can handle decently and can be modded too if you are handy with tools and don't mind a head gasket or two.

Puma's are cheap due to rust issue's, a VTS will be cheap because of everything else. I don't think i would trust a cheap VTS to be reliable enough to have fun. Will have been ragged to within an inch of its life and ready to pop.

I've had a K11 1.0 16v. Seriously don't bother with the 1.0 16v...They take abuse very well but oh so slow. Go for the SR/Super S/Si if any. 1.3 16v. Good luck finding a half decent one without rusty sills/crossmembers/scuttle and floors.

Go for the micra! Get it and spend a while putting a cage in etc on the way to getting it rally prepped whilst doing track days in it. Then once it's up to scratch go for the F1000 rally championship in it :) It may be pretty slow in comparison to some other cars but when you're on track (or rally stage) it's all about goint the fastest you can in the car you are in and you enjoy it all the same. You can get great cheap rallying from a micra and I guarantee you'll fucking love it!

We likely will be, as you won't have fixed yours, and mine will probably still be a mess of wires. If it isn't, Amma take it.

What ever we buy will be used for one track day and then sold, broken, or scrapped!
Depends what we buy and how it runs

For 300 quid you'll be lucky to get anything performance based so just but anything at all and strip it down to it's bones and have fun

Just to update this..
Car bought for the amazing sum of...
£200! Tax out at the end of this month but mot til October!
Perfect as it only needs to run one track day in August :D
I will start a progress thread when I'm next off work, but the plans are strip it to fuff and add some sticky tyres and run her panties off til she lets go!

the plans are strip it to fuff and add some sticky tyres and run her panties off til the extra grip pulls what's left of the floorpan from the body!

They are a good fun chassis to drive. I wouldnt bother with the sticky tyres. Strip it and thrash it. I can do you a good deal on some eibach springs I have if you want to mod it lol

Lol no chassis rust, just the arches need attention! ;)
Can't wait to start working on it!

I may take you up on the offer! If she scrubs up well enough ill be making it more a permanent fixture and give her some tasty track bits :)
Eibachs may be a good option just for now! Any idea how much they will drop the car? Cheers!

Not a problem. It would be my 1st choice by a long shot if i were to do the same.
If you know how to peddle it round a track, you will upset quite a few people.
