Not the first time or the last. The kid who bought mine crashed it twice and wrote it off the third time, took him less than a month. Didn't die so didn't make the news.

It was more the fact the paper are calling a VTR a hot hatch back even though a new 1 litre fiesta will out accelerate one

the daily mail hasn't got a reputation for being accurate, nevermind the general copypasting they call writing while they call themselves journalists.

To be fair, it seems like it was the dead lad's father who called it a hot hatch.

One of the top comments:
Who paid for the insurance that allowed him to be on the road in such an unsuitable car??
Oh my fucking facepalm.

The people who comment on the daily fail don't have a reputation for being witted.

I think box insurance should be conpulsary for when you passed your test for your first year, looking back I really didn't want to have a box but it did me a lot of good I think looking back at it, they do say you learn to drive after you passed your test its so true, also a skidpan can learn you alot that should be part of a driving test too just my 2p worth.

I reckon you should be restricted to 55 bhp for the first year then 75 the second year, 120 the third year IF you did not cause an accident. Then after 2-3 years of no accidents you're allowed something bigger. Some insurance companies already do the milking by quoting prohibitive prices.

You can pass your test at 17 and if you've got the money you can buy and drive a Ferrari. But if you want a big bike you have to jump through more hoops.

You can kill someone just as easily with 55 bhp as you can with 550. It will take a harder test and more education/testing to stop idiots

Its the daily mail, assume half the story is fictional and the other half is massively exaggerated....
