I'm nearing the end of my college course now (final day 27th of june) and I am looking to get an apprenticeship as my next step forwards.

My course (which I am due to get an absolute minimum grade of MMM) is a level 3 extended national diploma in motorsport, which was 2 years long. Just to give a bit more information I do have experience with racing with a team as I have done sprint races, track days and a 24hr event.

Although I am obviously doing my own searching, I was wondering if anyone on here knew of any oppurtunities I could take. I am living in hook, hampshire, I have the benefit of using the train but I do not drive as of yet (I'm a learner)

I am also interested in trying to get into vehicle modifications/tuning, as well as fabrication (I would quite like to be a proffesional welder)

If you would like to know anything more about me, then I'm sure you wont hesitate to ask ;)

Right, lol, thanks if you read that, I imagine i wont really get many replies (if any at all) but its worth a shot :) Thank you.

Hang on so are you asking for advise regarding apprenticeships or is this a personal advert for potential businesses to approach you?

If so, I wouldn't mention the 3 merits. You don't need to turn up to college to get a merit!

and anyway, merits are much better than pass or fail. I've worked bloody hard for this course, and you go to college to further your education in which I have done successfully. I'm proud of my grade, if you don't like it then don't take interest.

It will be a hard one to break into as the costly part of the apprenticeship will follow you getting the job, (the degree costs).

A friend of mine got into it via work experience at school and it's the same way I got my apprenticeship.

I couldn't recommend anything more than asking to do some voluntary work with a few teams over summer, gain some more practical experience and you never know if you really get on well with a team it may throw up an oppurtunity.

In regards to your grades, nothing wrong with that especially as a minimum but try your best to hit those distinctions.

I was getting distinctions at college and when I got to uni I was having to work A LOT harder to achieve a 2:1 nevermind a first, I didn't have the spare time whilst running projects for work to hit 1sts so just be mindful of that.

I'm currently working on a job for an engineering facility as a joint venture that is between a university in the west midlands and an automotive/engineering company. The steelwork has just gone up, should be a good university to do a motorsport degree at when it's complete as I believe they have good existing motorsport courses plus this engineering build up thqtcould potentially be utilised for certain aspects of the course..
