Bought a saxo 1999 1.4 auto about 2 weeks ago, only now just realised there is brown gunk in coolant resivoir. Cleaned it out added anti freeze and water, next day it's full again. Been reading up and people are saying it's headgasket.
I have no white smoke
Runs perfectly fine
Heaters blow out warm air as should do
Just need your guys advice really. What to do, is it worth fixing?

They can be prone to this, coolant and oil mixes slightly as the head gasket breaks down in certain areas but it doesn't get burnt off in the cylinders. I'd fully flush the system using dish washer tablets or speed flush then go from there. Ultimately it will get worse and you'll need a new head gasket. Not a bad job on an 8v though at all

If you don't fix it it will get worse.

I had a 1.1 106 that would put a glob of oil into the coolant system every so often. Wasn't bad but it was like that for 2 years and I drove it quite hard, didn't cause an issue although I really should have changed it
