Vacuum leak ?

I think I have a vacuum leak on my vtr but I'm having problems finding one, the symptoms I have are sticky revs, hesitation from standstill and it just generally sounds a bit rough for example the idle is always bumpy and when driving it doesn't engine brake when going down hills due to the sticky revs. I have tried the spraying carb cleaner over the inlet area and vacuum connections but it doesn't do anything.. I'm still convinced it's a vacuum leak though as it makes a sucking noise as the revs drop if I rev the engine with the bonnet open, are there any common places for it to leak or any better ideas for finding it?
