Due to our new born we have had to ditch the wifes car and replace it.
We have just part exchanged a MKv GTi Edition 30 , the dealer basically give us near retail price for it.
The dealer said they cannot get good stock at present .So they just are offering way above cap for good cars.
Is this the normal at present ?

every man and his dog is a trader up here these days mate
the garages have to add over heads into their prices so theyve always offered shit prices... now no one goes to see them so they dont get any stock lol
joe bloggs trading from home or his small unit doesnt ave the massive overeads and can offer a muc better price..and pay cash

I'd guess the fact that it's an ed30 helped.
I would guess a normal GTI wouldn't be gotten at such a good trade in.

As above, what did you get trade?
Book value means toss all against what cars actually sell for, and edition 30's do good money.

i wouldve loved an ed30 but i had to settle for a normal gti, the fact they have awesome seats, bigger turbo, nicer wheels, nicer bodystyling, iirc they all have electric and hated seats, rear lights that second hand still fetch around the £200 all together makes the car much more sought after over the normal gti
im intrigued what you got for the ed30?

Px against this, we needed a 5 door, 170 tdi, fully loaded. We initially went for an S3 but the boot was too small due to the rwar diff for the boys carry cot and buggy.. Gutted . So we needed a 2wd, this was it

read my above post :homme:
main difference is that it has the bigger k04 turbo so the engine is basically an s3 engine but a slightly de-tuned version, where my normal gti has the k03 turbo.
and comes with a lot of nicer interior and exterior touches and they demand a good amount more money than the normal gti
