right i just put my VTS on the dyno to see what power she is running and the figure i got shocked me

116.8bhp & 92Ftlbs

Mods consist of

Newman ph3 cams
toyosports 4-2-1 manifold
Full suspersprint exhaust system with de-cat
air filter
stage 2 remap with rev limit raised to 7800rpm

i dont have a clue why its producing so little power and less power then a standard VTS should produce

i rang Avon tuning who said it could be a fault somewhere.

anyone got any suggestions on why its running so little power?

Fly or wheel figure?

How does the car go on the road??

thats wheel power, sometimes it goes ok, but it does feel abit sluggish today

Remember that stock is 120 at the fly, try multiplying by around 20% to get a guestimate of fly power!

When did it last have a full service and what mileage is it on?

I always lol when I read things like "stage 2 remap"

Who mapped the car? Was it done by someone who knows what they're doing? Is it on aftermarket management, if so what?

If it was done prior to your ownership, is it possible that they've just whacked the rev limit up and left it?

It's also worth remembering that dyno'd vary. With those mods a good figure would be around 140-145, I'd be happy with that, so you're only around 25 away. Factoring in the humid weather currently, and dyno differences it's entirely within the realms of possibility that's it's not far off at all.

Did they mention anything about getting that blusher and "Whore Red" lipstick in for D4?

Avon tuning did the remap, it does say stage 2 custom remap on receipt lol. but it still runs lumpy as, doesnt alsways start first time it cuts out now and again after first start up.

Also sometimes when waiting at traffic lights cars EML starts to flash and i get a misfire, turn car on and off and its fine :S

as for the weather is was 9:30 this morning so not too hot and was abit wet outside.

car as around 60k on clocks and was last serviced 2-3k ago

Get it on the dyno somewhere that know what the fuck they are doing.

But looking at that power curve I'd lay money on it not being cammed. Curve is nothing like ph3 curves I've seen before, including my own.

It is cammed I brought the cams myself from Pug1off I'm thinking it's just a shit remap he's done or there is a sensor down on the car

How can it be fake cams? Haha

Is it possible that power run was done before the cams?

For comparison, this is a dyno run ran on MuZiZZle's 52 plate VTS, it's got a Piper 4-1 manifold, and at the time had a Magnex decat system, CDA induction, and a set of Piper cams, it's not mapped though.

EDIT - Scratch that, just seen the original post and that you've just had it on the Dyno. For the sake of argument you could whip the cam cover off one side, it's only like 8 or 10 torx screws, and get a photo of the cam, it should be marked.

Are the cam lobes ment to look like this after about 1k of use age?

All it says in cams is DNC1077 and HH they are the Newman cams I had fitted cos I can remember seeing them markings on them when I got them out of the box, the other markings are in the ends of the cams which I can see now there fitted
