dealing with rust [Archive] - Saxperience

Hi guys need some help on whats best to do with rust. Got a few patches on my inner wings and by the drainage pipes in the sunroof.
I've had a light poke about at it and seems to only be surface rust so I hope that this means no welding.
Can anyone recommend a process to dealing with it and making sure it doesn't come back.

Had surface rust in the exact same place in the sunroof area, some idiot at Peugeot/Citroen thought it would be a good idea to not put the drainage pipes at the lowest point in the drainage area :wall: I just rubbed it down, treated and painted.

I know its stupid how they thought that was a good idea.

What did you mean by treated and what paint did you use?

Clean rust up to bare metal,then paint phospheric acid on(ebay)Then red oxide.
