View Full Version : No more Saxo, my babies dead...
srcnix
8th September 2006, 12:44
On the way home, lots on my mind going back to sort my mind out. Going 60 down a dual carriage way and changed lane. Ended up going into the back of a Royal Mail truck.
Front of car completely mashed in, air bag didn't even go off.
My babies dead.
Got some pics I will post later...

Me backs pretty bad but will go to the docs tomorrow if feels as bad or worse.
It doesn't look repairable. If it is, I will be so happy, if not, I don't know. I feel naked without her at the moment and it has only been 2 - 3 hours.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. The meet, well I want that to continue in memory of my baby!
I will not get any other car than a Saxo. I can't, I love them.
Very much thinking about a VTR, not sure how well £4,500 will go for a years insurance and a VTR being that I don't like the idea of more than 30,000 miles on the clock.
I just hope I can get the same colour.

I was going about 60 in the middle lane which was clear and for some reason thought it necessary to change into the left lane. Didn't see the red Royal Mail truck and pretty much just hit it. Air bag didn't go off and would have been saving me a lot of pain right now.
I had a lot of stuff on my mind.
Went to the hospital. Apparently your spine is meant to be slightly bent, mine is straight due to major muscle spasms.
Hurts like hell.

Shit son...
Well I was in a crash at about 40mph and my airbag didn't budge at all, could of been due to the light being on but still...
Anyway it could have been a lot worse, and I know every dick will say it but at least no one was killed, and its only a bit of metal at the end of the day...
srcnix
9th September 2006, 10:14
Regarding photos, I don't have Windows on this box and can't find any software that will allow me to hook up me phone to my Linux box so will hate to wait a little.

That's true, but when you got a £5,000 loan out for it, kind of a kick in the bollocks.

The dash was pushed back about an inch, windscreen has a nice crack (Small hit would shatter it) and the front of the car has actually come away from the rest of the car by about an inch.

9th September 2006, 10:41

Danr
9th September 2006, 11:19
Shit, that looks bad, What are you doing with it?
srcnix
9th September 2006, 11:42
Insurance company has taken it away. Got everything I needed out of it (CD player, mats etc).
Just a case of waiting for the verdict. If they can fix it (doubtful) then that's great as I get my baby back. If not, new options open for me such as a VTR which I wanted initially but needed a car ASAP.

17th September 2006, 14:03
Just seen the pic, never thought it was that bad :/
srcnix
17th September 2006, 15:01
Yeah, it's pretty bad. Finding it hard to find a good quote on insurance, the guy at MCE screwed me quote up.

Then looking for a VTR and new insurance isn't wasting my time right now then.
Will find out tomorrow whether it is a write off or not. Will let you all know.
Other than AutoTrader where else should I think about looking for a VTR. I may only have around £3,500.00 to spend. Looking at < 30,000 miles on the clock. Ideally icelandic blue or wicked red. Also needs to be completely standard.

Where do you live, how much would you be looking at selling your baby for.
Also, condition? I am looking for emasculate condition for the interior and not a scratch on the exterior (Bumbers understandable).
Also, where do you live mate?
Yates
17th September 2006, 18:23
