Hi guys, going into the garage next week to get my car lowered 40mm, just wondered how many clicks on the torsion bar to get 40mm drop.
Its being done at my step dads garage, he doesnt normally modify cars from factory but he will give lowering a go on mine, and isnt sure of the torsion bar?
Cheers Levi

alright mate,
you shouldnt really lower by clicks as it's not good for something (dampers or summat, n can balls ur car up) but my mechanic only does it by clicks so i had it done anyway. Mines has bin lowered 1 notch/click, roughly it's about 30mm so quessing 2 with be over 50 at least. Apparantly it's just as easy or easier to lower it the proper way (not by notches/clicks). and u can lower it by as much as u want e.g 41 mm if needed.....
also mines bin lowered 50 at front n 1 notch seems to b level with it. so i'd say 1 will b enough if u are getting 40 at front
could somebody please link a guide on how to lower properly....i dont know where to find 1

if they do it by notches/clicks dont let them do it unless you fancy a bent axle,it needs to be measured, the guide will tell you how to do it properly, take it to them and see if they would do it...

tell the mechanic it's done by removing the splined section of the torsion bars then measuring the distance between 2 points ie top of brake disc and top of arch, then moving the arm up the desired amount ( if you want 40mm then move it 45mm to compensate for the suspension being off the ground). doing it by notches doesnt bend the axle or wreck the dampers, it can damage the axle bearings although some cars have had it done this way and been fine but it isnt exact and you may find one side sits slightly higher than the other.
