I'm the perfect apple customer. Buy everything because they tell me it's good (and generally, it is). But I'm a sucker for all their marketing :D

I would if i had the money, bought through desperation 2 years ago when my phone was pick pocketed in ibiza, and i was due an upgrade, so upgraded to the 4S about 2 weeks before the 5 came out.. Oh the regrets.

If the last few generations of I-phones are anything to go from the new one will just be playing catchup with the other big players.

Contactless payment using your phone.. All you do is point your camera at your bank card once, and then you can use it.. Scan your phone then use your fingerprint to confirm it.. Pretty new and mental

I'm sat with 2 mates here who are both can boys of apple. Both got iPads, macs and iPhone 5s and they're gettin the 6. Bender squad.
They insist apple make the best phone and computers...I think they insert their 1/4inch willys into their speaker holes.

I do love a mac and their operating system, it looks cool, but that's about it compared to a price matched Windows built computer!

I can't see any features on the new one that if want compared to my 5S. Maybe more info will come to light on the new ones but so far rather disappointed. Will end up with one no doubt when this is 2 years old, but now I'm locked into upgrading when the iphone "S" models arrive which in my experience are generally more feature rich but who can say what the future holds now

The computers are overpriced wank.
After being in I.T support for 17 years, I can honestly say that is complete and utter bullshit.
Maybe Timmy Torrent sat in his bedroom wanking over Miley on his neon rig between Warcraft battles would make a saving, between mopping up thimbles of his love piss with a sock he will have time to fuck on updating XYZ to keep his Aldi bodgebox running.
Out in the real world, if you want to give someone a machine you don't have to fix at least once a week, a Mac is the way to go. They rarely go wrong, and that's where you save your money, time is money!
I rarely support Apple products these days, but I used to support an entire editorial and creative department at a newspaper on Macs, rarely went wrong, switched to HP desktops, utter clusterfuck!
Brettles1986
10th September 2014, 08:50
Yep, running HP desktops here and they spontaneously combust all the time.
A few people running MacBooks and have not had any dealings with them as they run fine.
For build quality alone it is work getting a Mac.

This ^. For once, Muz is correct.
My dad, in his 70's, with a natural phobia of anything vaguely electronic, loves his ipad. My mum, who went through maybe 5 different android phones and "cound't get the hang of them" has an iphone 5, and is a convert and wouldn't consider anything else now.
Sure - you can fuck about with an andriod based phone far more. But what I really want from a phone is to be able to pick it up and use it, have all my apps easy to access and work without crashing, and also have an accessory in my hand that I'm proud off because it looks nice. iPhones meet that and exceed it - constantly.
Sure - apple stuff is expensive. But it works. Out of the box. It's simple but powerful when you need it. We can turn this into a apple fanboy Vs android argument but the bottom line is those who've used apple rarely defect. It's a good product, with premium pricing.

I left Apple behind a few years ago but when the other half upgrades her phone I shall be getting rid of the HTC I have and stealing her Iphone 5.
Everything about IOS is so sleek in comparison to the cluttered look and feel of Android. Don't get me wrong both have power in equal measure but it's usability that really counts.

My mum is the same as your dad Ross, less the penis.. She can barely send a text on an old nokia, but got an ipad instead of a laptop, and she never puts it down..
Apple are priced high, but everything works! All good quality stuff, and lasts.. Like i saw Craig say on facebook, they know they don't have to be 1st to do something, they just know they have to be the best at doing it.. Which they are

I wanted a decent computer at work for Adobe PS, ID, AI. The choice ended up being build a PC or buy Mac. I bought a Mac and never looked back, as Muz said its about the time that its saved that makes them affordable. No messing about, they just work out the box and are very reliable.
I also agree with the others about usability of the phones. So many people go on about not being able to do things that android can do or say why don't you jail break your phone. No...the phone works, its simple and easy to use which is what most people want. I don't need infinite settings becuz Hackorzzz!!!

Not that I've seen. I'll just be going unlocked. Been unlocked for the last two years now and wont be getting tied to a carrier again. So many better options if you're sim only!

I was thinking of going sim only, im out of contract on the 8th October so was going to weigh up the costs of device, monthly etc... I expect the carriers will be charging a fucking fortune especially since the device cost has now risen as well!

$199, 299 and 399 on a 2 year contract. I won't be surprised if $$$ gets a straight £££ translation. I suppose you have to add the cost of insurance on top.
MuZiZZle

I'm on T-Mobile friends and family, as is the boob unit, so we get 50% off our total package costl, which is jazzy because we basically don't pay the "technology fund" portion of the contract, FAO The System, FU!

They are contract prices. If it wasn't, those prices translate to around £120 for the cheapest one!
The price is going to be £500+ in the UK.

People whinge about apple prices, but my 4S, which is now 3 phones behind the current one, still runs everything fine, battery lasts all day as long as i'm not on it none stop.. Can't complain at something if it lasts 2 years.. If you break the screen, it's not really the phones fault..
Plus android is for gays, true story.
People can call iphone users stupid for stumping up the cash, but then again, it's like the difference between paying £500 for a saxo, or £3000 and getting a 3 series bmw..

Wondering what are the chances of cracking the screen in a tight jeans pocket. Or you sit down and it slides out and falls on the floor.
Mind you there should be a whole lot of new iphone breakage and blending videos on youtube.

Same with the galaxys indeed. The lcd layer seems to split very easily, I've seen loads of these. Decent case indeed, one of my mates got hold of a decent rubber made casing that's also water resistant.

I was going to say or don't be a spaz until I then realised that I have cracked my HTC screen by putting the alarm on snooze too many times and knocking it off my bedside table on many occasions.
The crack on my HTC however is a testament to how strong and well built it is as it spans the width of the screen but is one clean crack only and the phone is still 100% usable.
