the link works fine for me lol...

Dec 98 he tested a VTS but does that mean he started the site then as well?

Mark

You guys are too fast, I made the post, spotted I'd mis-typed it and corrected it - Must have only been 10 seconds at the most and by then you'd already replied to let me know my mistake.

The site has been around since around the time Simo got his Saxo, the forum came a little later. I'll see if I can figure out the proper dates later.

Dec 98 he tested a VTS but does that mean he started the site then as well?I said it was a clue  I'm not sure that it is stated anywhere exactly when the site started. I have a report I was supposed to write on the history of Saxperience, which Simo will probably remind me about now (unless he doesn't see this thread)

I can remember the days when Saxperience had 5 visitors a week, seems a long time ago now...

David
9th September 2006, 10:42
I thought it was 2001 as it says copyright 2001 at bottom of the page....

the best way to find out how long the forums have been going would be to see what simos join date is seen as he is the first member

It helps a bit, but Saxperience wasn't always on saxperience.com

after a little research i have found out that Scott was the first user to graduate from a newbie....simo posted THIS (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=94&highlight=simo)thread. I would gues he would post it as soon as scott had graduated so i am guessing the forum was not up for much longer than this thread was posted...

i say this because i was searching through old threads and i noiced it was a lot different...simo used to talk to people in a general mannor, like you do in texts e.g. he was asking when is someone coming online or something similar to that...now you would PM it. therefore they must have been doing quite a bit of posting if they were talking about anything and everything....

HERE (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92&highlight=simo)is the perfect example of one of the threads i was talking about lol!

fter more research lol, i found out that the forum opened on the 1st december 2002 - found that in THIS (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=256)thread....

the site is starting to pick up from here, with an average of 3 members per day and 150 registered members!

Scott
9th September 2006, 12:44

Imfromwales
9th September 2006, 12:45

Scott
9th September 2006, 12:46

Imfromwales
9th September 2006, 12:52

Scott
9th September 2006, 13:16

i remember before there was a forum and the site used to have a really crappy long address. nothing catchy like sax-p.

i took my time to sign up to the forum though

Mark
9th September 2006, 16:25
the site used to have a really crappy long address. He he, I wonder how many people know that address? Knowing that is a further clue to how long the site has been active.

The detective work so far has established that the forum was launched in December 2002.

Curran

Mark

Ok, here's an early shot of the Saxperience Web site... To reward your patience

Edit: I found a v2.1 shot too - enjoy...

Give me a rep for starting it lol!!

lol it looks very bland...this version is much better!

i think simo should get that interactive wheel thing back, would save a lot of time people asking for photoshops!!

Curran
9th September 2006, 17:44
that wheel thing seems a very good idea as wheels can make or break a car

Imfromwales
9th September 2006, 18:07
yeah, hopefully simo will see this thread and act upon it lol!
