Decided my last plans was WAY OTT for what im after.

First off, im after a CHEAP install that looks good and is pretty loud.

As long as sound quality is not any worse than standard then ill be happy.

Im not going to Amp the Front 13cm's, speakers only aswell.

I only want one 12" sub with a 2Way amp in back.

Must be all alpine

Must be black/slver.

Proposed Install-

Head Unit- Alpine CDA-9852RB- £140

13cm's- Alpine SPS-13C2 (s-type)- £65
Sub- Alpine SWS-1222D (s-type)- £100
Amp- Alpine MRV-T320- £135

Gonna start ordering today.

cos i like the idea of sticking to one brand so that everything matches.

e.g- sticking to sparco on the inside. and alpine for the ICE

i still would not stick to one brand it just limits your options. So what it if dont all look the same. You listen to audio not look at it remember.

Personally I can not understand your logic, you want to upgrade your speakers, but you have chosen to stick with another set of co-axial speakers. It is a waste of £65 for the minimal improvement that they will produce (if any improvement). Remember running them off of the head unit is still going to give them the same power as that of which you were giving the standard speakers.

The only difference is standard speakers were designed to run off of head units. There may be a slight improvement in quality but you may find a lack in volume to compared to the standard speakers.

For an extra £60 on top of your original budget you could get the head unit you want, a set of (S type) components, the 12" (S type) sub, and an alpine amp to power everything.

The mids would be louder, clearer, it would all still look the part and you would be much, much happier with the end result.

Head Unit (CDA-9852RB (http://www.cel-direct.com/shop1.asp?s_page=radio-cd.asp)) £130

5.25" (13cm) Component System (SXS-1357 (http://digitalsounddirect.co.uk/shop/product/products_id/1771.html)) £50

12" Subwoofer (SWS-1222D (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/2841.html)) £90

5 Channel Amplifier (MRV-F450 (http://www.alphacaraudio.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=14&products_id=111)) £230

NOTE: Bridging channels 1/2 and 3/4 to run the components would give them a good 100w RMS each and 200 to the sub running off of the 5th channel.

At the end it is your money, but I and a lot of others on here do not want to see people waste money when it could be spent more wisely.

I do not know the last thing about wiring up ICE.

So with that lot, however good it looks, id have no idea where to start.

Soo its not really worth it is it.

Cos id have to fork out £200 to have it all wired.

I am an electrician (2nd year apprentice) BUT ive never even worked on car audio. I do house bashing, not alarms or anything that may be of any similarity to cars.

However that stuff does look excellent.

They are a good brand, great headunits but they are far from the best so why stick to them?

I agree with Scott. they do make great headunits but there speakers and amps are not the best for the same money. A single brand system just reduces quality possible for the money.
