Changed the gearbox on my vtr, the car idles fine if it's just stood but when I drive it it is hesitating and surging. I ruined the box oilseals putting the shafts back in so it's dismantle time again. I've drove 400 mile with it as it is so the car is drivable just the surging is very irritating. Any ideas lads? Also the gear stick is very very slack now, was play in it before but not like this, I can still go through all the gears fine but it's another irritating fault now it's all back together.

I've highlighted the issue. Now I read that as you haven't replaced the oil seals that you ruined and have been running it without. If that's the case, replace them and stop driving it you potato.

Haha needed it for my last two days at work, it's parked up now ready for me to ruin it some more.:wall:
