Do vtr wheels offer plenty of grip when cornering, ive got vts wheels atm with a couple buckled, i have a full set of vtr wheels in good nick considering whether to just swap or search for some vts alloys????

All about the tyres.

As above makes no difference all about tyres.

I've found that theres a bigger range of tyres for 15 inch wheels and are often cheaper.

Yep, tyres make the difference.

But I think what you're asking is: If you had the exact same tyres on a 14" and 15" rim, would having the extra inch be beneficial?

My guess is, yes?

14": 185/55
15": 195/45

Lower profile and wider contact on the road would suggest more grip. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Of course a wider lower profile tyre is going to offer more grip, but are standard vtr wheels capable of allowing you to push your car to the limit through corners and be confident or is this why most people get rid of vtr wheels because they dont offer much in terms of handling?

Most people get rid of VTR wheels because they don't like how they look.

The wheels themselves will make no difference in the handling.

they are lighter, more sidewall = more flex on the limit before heading hedgebound.
