Metal door cards!

im pulling out all of my peeling flocked interior. my car is already completely stripped apart from the dash and door cards, im wanting to get some chequered metal to cut to size and stick in place of the door cards.
has anyone got any pics or done anything similar? Also if anyone knows the best and cheapest place to get some metal chequered plate im all ears lol i was just gonna go to the rip off merchants that are B&Q... Thanks

Each to their own but won't chequer plate metal look pretty gash all over the place?

Why not just get some Perspex or some very thin ply covered in some sort of material.

Surely perspex or carbon wood look better than the metal.the metal reminds me of the free gift you got on the cover of max power mag.

ive seen it done before in a track spec 106 and it looked really tidy and neat, not a quick bodge job or anything.. ill upload pics of it to this thread as it comes along and see what people think..
