So another problem I have encountered guys 😡
Thought I would take the car for a run to check the new clutch cable is ok and tried to start it, won't start.
Got the jump leads on it and left it running for a few mins then cut out.
Jumped it again and then drive it for around 10miles, get home turn it off and then it wouldn't start again, just completely dead.
Could this be an alternator problem???
Just to add my battery light has been very faintly flickering for a few weeks mainly when cars reversing.
Also my power steering pimp is whining when the keys turned but not running if that could be an issue?
Thanks

Sounds like a dead battery

If you have one I'd get a multimeter on the battery and alternator and check the voltages.
Could just be the alt belt is slipping a bit.

Charge it overnight out of the car on a trickle charge.once reinstalled check the charging rate when the engine is running.

Will borrow one and try it mate.
Could the whining from the pas pump cause the drain on the battery, only whines when engine not running?

If the pump is drawing current and the battery is either weak or not being charged properly then it'll flatten the battery.the fact that your battery light is flickering either means a bad connection or that the alternator is faulty.my bet would be a dodgy alternator.

Cheers mate will have a better look tomorow. Defo not much in the battery, Central locking struggling, windows struggling. Still got lights but warning sound very slowed down

Charge the battery overnight and check voltage; it should be 12.5volts or more.
Stick it in the car and check the voltage with the engine running; this should be 13.5V plus.
If voltage is same , or less, than 12.5V it's an alternator problem, if the alternator is only putting out say 10V it won't be charging the battery.
The fact that your battery light has been glowing dimly could suggest a low alternator output, which is usually caused by faulty diodes rather than a slipping belt.

Update guys, tested the battery and was showing around 9.5 volts.
Also upon a closer look the alternator wire had come loose some how so plugged it back in.
The test was showing the battery has a dead cell so new battery time.
