all the time every gear no point in fannying around in my opinion you buy a car to drive not treat like a bloody classic unless it is but i dont see a saxo as anything near that, i use mine as a b road bomber hehe

Personally i never 'rag' my car.
Car 'ragging' should only occur in the right place at the right time. This place is called a race track and the time an official track session, not on public roads.

I dont agree with it.. if your going to 'rag' your car you might as well pay 30 pounds.. then if your crash you wont kill anyone and you will be insured for track insurance..

11th September 2006, 14:57
If im on time i just cruise and laf at ppl in 1.2s trying to race me off the lights and think I cant be bothered to waste me petrol on ya, but if im late for work or an important date then i may like to push it, i never redline tho knowing my look the pistons wud fly out the bonnet
bloz
11th September 2006, 14:58

b0t13
11th September 2006, 16:03
not really that much.. unless some little shit wants a race
i know mine will break if i hammer it, and i cnt afford petrol all the time thru ragging it!
hesslevtr
11th September 2006, 16:09
last time was at trax on the 0-60 but before that was at fcs on the track which i really enjoyed felt miles more safer and plenty of space if i went a bit to far which i did ask boz ;)
i do give it a bit of a blow out every now and again but not ragging it and in apropriate areas and conditions

but then he replaces them bits with better bits that dont break like the last bits so it can be pushed harder next time, not worying about his new bits ;)

11th September 2006, 17:10
i dont think its possible to 'rag' it in mine. lol
i like to accelerate "hard". i dont see the point in taking ages to get to the given speed limit.. and i would love to go on a track :) slow and steady wins the race..

only at proper temperature, but at least once a week. reason i bought a car was to get places faster, lol if i want to dwindle along slowly ill take my work van (VW CADDY) its cack
lambinator
11th September 2006, 23:22
of course now and then, can't have an engine not working fully 100%
needs a good clean out of the pipes as any saxo thats been ragged then and then will beat the exact same saxo driven slowly.
hence vts v vts

i give it a bit of poke sometimes but depends where and when.
I don't really rag it on Dual carriage ways or motorways. At that speed its too dangerous.
I don't really rag it over the limit either, just get there quicker.
Didz
9th October 2006, 13:40
normally when im stressed or annoyed about somethin! some how i always feel alot better afterwards :)
so not very often!
the majority of the time when i drive its during bad traffic hours so other than that i dont get much of a chance!
Jimbo
9th October 2006, 13:41
I often drive hard in convoys on the way to Car shows, so that's not exactly alot..
Once it's up to full temp, i'll drive it hard in 2nd when i feel like it. But i Never go over 80 on the motorway or Dual carridgeway. I'm too paranoid i'll get caught but a Mobile speed camera, i value my licence too much.
Hanuman
9th October 2006, 13:49
i agree there is alot of porkies being told :P or just a complete waste of a car!
i like to get to the limit fast ie sometimes -40, car is made to be revved it doesnt blow up when it hits the red, and if it does then youv got a dodgy car, i never RAG me car round corners or fly about harsh braking or speeding down crappy roads, but if theres n open road then ill put me foot down now and then few times a week keep the engine healthy,

Best engines are the ones that have been driven hard from new and maintained well. I give mine stick whenever it works! It's the LAW!
There is a time and a place though. 30 zones at school leaving time not the time, blatting round the country roads of Yorkshire in the cold and dry is!

this is my category, i give it a bit of a ragging if its quiet and conditions are favourable, i usually only give 1st and second a bit of a blat though your usually at or above the speed limit by the time it even needs to see third anyway
