What year is it? (manufacture not registration)

Up to late 1999 has an infrared sensor, it'll be a dark glass receiver on the roof next to the interior light. If you don't have that, you've not got it.

On later models, it has RF. Generally speaking, if it has central locking then it has the capabilities for RF remote locking (I think the central locking boxes all look the same from the outside), the only way to tell is to supply a VIN number to your dealer and they can tell you if it came with central locking.

Unless I've forgotten something here :P

The range is shit anyway.

I'm sure their is a thread on pairing the fob to the system.if all else fails then just buy a Hawke kit.

No, pairing like you do in the handbook won't work with another key. Keys have to match receivers - so basically you're paying for diagnostics time so they can match them.

Get it done properly, dont even think about the shitty after market kits. I've had 3 diffferent types and hated them all. why carry an extra fob!?

Peugeot wanted a LOT more than £46 off me for doing my key, If it means that much to you it's best to get it done right.

Have go carry an extra fob either way, fob isn't part of the key and the hawk systems are highly recommended on this forum, good guide yo install them with too

I've still have a matching fob and RCL brain, you can take the middle out and put the blade in to the fob, when i got my VTR i put a hawk kit on and its range its awesome and doesn't take long to fit, can be tight as you got to get to the wires behind the glove box
