Need to use a brake caliper piston rewind set ideally

Block of wood on the piston face then a G clamp over the top.tighten the clamp down carefully until the piston has rewound enough.

Depends on the caliper.
But use the method Stevo67 is saying.
No point buying the compressor

Take the cap of the master cylinder reservoir and it'll go in by hand

use a big lever/screwdriver behind the old pads

Yeah. Can get them on eBay for about £15. Once you got one can do any brake setup

I've always found you don't need that much force I just put a spanner across the face of the piston and grab both ends and the caliper with my hands and squeeze it togeather,

And the rear pistons u can turn them back with anything flat that will fit in the grooves, I've got a chisel that's just the right fit works great.

So would I be able to use the old brake pads with a g clamp instead of a piece of wood?

Yeah that should be fine if you're going to be binning the pads anyway

The discs you shiney because of the brake pads, which are abrasive.

Its only happening on one side how do I stop this?

Mickswan

I'd say the sliders on one side are a bit stuck so the pads not releasing from the disc correctly.

Ive greased the sliders up when I changed my pads, will it damage the disk?

Well I went and bought a g clamp, and I done my brakes today using the g clamp, and a little block of wood to push the piston in and it worked spot on.so thanks for the tip stevo67.

incase anyone else wonders, theres a better way if the sliders are nice and free to move and you're replacing the discs. leave the disc and inboard pad in, remove the outboard one and bolt the caliper back to the carrier. then just pull the caliper towards you against the disc.
