I've read many threads on the different short shift options for the VTR.
Which one do people generally use/recommend?
They all seem to look like they work completely differently!
What is easiest to fit, most reliable and cheapest etc.
Many thanks

Based purely on performance I much preferred the B&M over the Compbrake setup (think thats the name of it).

The Satchshift I have never used, looks like the more pricey option but I hear excellent things about it.

for an everyday road car something like the Baker BM quickshift (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/car-tuning/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-transmission/quickshift-kits/baker-bm-quickshift-citroen-saxo.html) or OBP internal quickshift (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/car-tuning/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-transmission/quickshift-kits/citroen-saxo-obp-motorsport-quickshift.html) is probably the best as they are fit and forget, and cheap.

Ok thanks for the advice!
Any idea why they all look so different?

Dont mean to hijack the thread, but are either of those suitable for a phase 2 vtr?

Excuse the noob question I've literally only started learning about modding cars the last few days. What's a quickshift do, and where do you exactly fit it? hahaha

Shorter throw on the gearstick, those are used where the gear linkage fits the gearbox.

Google the image/name snd you'll see

in a way Quickshift is the wrong word.

Shortshift is better...

It simply shortens the movement of the gearlever.

with the 2 sphere replacement for to a new position..

u can see the final result at the gearlever here:

I just cut a slice in the plastic ball on the standard shifter and slid it up a little bit then re secured it... not sure if that's a bad idea or not, but it works a treat. Still asy to put into gear, but the throw is a lot shorter.

The last picture is the one I fitted cos I had a lot of play in linkages and couldn't be bothered changing them lol but hey it works a treat
