In the search to remove further random weight I want to get rid of all the useless brackets left in the car. These look to be spot welded in place, whats best way to remove these? Dremel? Cutting disk?

Bracket for example

Spot weld drill bits are the proper solution. They blunt, so buy half a dozen, in the right size(s). Cheap on eBay.

They are shaped to avoid damaging the underlying metal.

This is on my to-do list, but I'm honestly thinking of going pikey and whizzing around with my grinder... But, I'll only tackle the sticky out bits, leaving the flat, welded on portion of the bracket in situ. It is not the proper way of doing it, but is quick.

Oh, and you'll probably find that you save feck all weight in real terms.

Got the bonnet stay bracket off with a dremel easy enough this afternoon along with a load of random bolts, will tackle the rear brackets another day.

smashing dremel cutting disks is a pain in the arse though
