i've had my ps2 for ages an was wondering if it would be worth getting an xbox 360 now or waiting till the ps3 comes out. i've never really played anything apart from playstations. is the 360 worth it?

360 controllers are a lot better than the old xbox ones, there a lot smaller and easier 2 use. Iv played my m8s 360 on xbox live an its a great laugh, And there are rumours that the ps3 is gonna cost over £400 when it comes out!

i work at hmv and the playstation 3 will be £450ish but because sony want to recover losses you wont be able to buy them on their own to start it will have to be a bundle like when the 360 came out so minimum £550 from hmv im afraid the ps3 controller has changed tho not the boomerang now its just the same as the ps2 but wireless etc the nintendo wii looks pants! aparently theres a updated psp with built in cam soon to?!?

sony have fuked up massively here. the blueray laser will end up being obsolete (DVDHD winning), hence no bluray movies to play it on.

Delays will make a few people swing over to the 360 at christmas.

I had the first playstation, and loved it. I got the ps2 then was great, but was at a mates house and played the 1st xbox, the GRAPHICS were much higher quality then the playstation.

So i bought the 360 in the summer with the harddrive, and its been mindblowing. Still love playstation, but its got some catching upto do, and for those moaning about contollers, try WIRELESS and compare new 360 ones to playstation dualshock ones, very similar indeed

But the 360 has got developrs backing all the way, Last week in "nuts" magazine it said that 2Fox were not going to be makind BluRay DVDs ever..

On a serious not I agree, either machines will impress anyone and will offer enough games to keep you happy.
My mate has an Xbox 360, the features you have when using it over the internet are amazing. Chat, downloads, team play, its all pretty damn amazing.

But im guessing PS3 will equal all these features too, im not an Xbox fan though, Playstation feels more welcome to me. Games like Tekken 6 and Gran Turismo HD are just screaming out for me....

How much was PS2 again when it first came out, im sure it was around £300, reason I ask is because the PS3 comes in 2 price ranges. A cheaper one with a smaller harddrive and a slightly more expensive one, bigger hard drive plus other little extras.

Tekken is another game that Xbox owners will be missing out on, I get the feeling that its not a big favourite for Sax-P member.

But its one of my all time favourites, Japanese PS3 market will be big for Tekken and most likely in the US. So Xbox owners in those countries will miss out, unless they have both consoles.

There will be another PS3 that comes with a 20gb hard drive and im sure there will be more options to have less games bundled.

no, ps2 controls are dire enough as it is. ps3 wont do as well because parents wont want to fork out crazy money just for a console for there kids, the wii will get quite a few sales due to parents seeing the price tag and buying it for there offspring. i got a 360 wont be buying a ps3 due to the crap i have to put up with the poorly designed ps2

BUT kids these days are spoiled rotten for one, and also the older generation will want to get there hands on the PS3 too. PS3 will be a home entertainment system, not just a games console.
So people will see it as a nice piece of kit to have on the top of your DVD and stereo deck.
Peronally the PS1/2 and now 3 controller was one of the best all round controllers.

The only other control pad that comes close is the Official Sega 6 Button Genesis pad.

ATM i wont be buying a playstation 3 ever.

Just about all the games that will come on it will be on the 360 at the same time and i can go online easily with my 360. I couldnt give a stuff about the graphics being 7% better some of the best games ever released dont have great graphics. Also the blu ray lazer has added a HUGE expense to the system for no great reason for about 90% of the target audience and even then i dont think blu ray is going to catch on at all.

Also when i buy the WII at christmas and get back the awesome games nintendo make i really dont see any place in my room for an over priced DVD player

From what ive heard and read, when they finally master all the blue ray crap, it'll blow hddvd out of the water. The ps3 has ten times the processing power of a home pc and is like 6 times faster than the 360.

In my opinion i will prefer the PS3 but i am currently considering an Xbox because i'm sick of waiting and i really want to play saints row.

In sony's favour, They do have Gran Turismo, that was the launch title for the PS2 and it will probably sway a lot of gamers. There is no better title IMO. Plus another launch title will be Metal Gear Solid 4. and that looks fantastic!!

But like many have said, people will get sick of waitng, and having come to a second christmas without the PS3 many (like me) are likely to buy the 360.
At the end of the day, that spells success for Microsoft on Volume Sales, But the popularity of the PS3 is likely to soar if it is as good as Sony claim
