View Full Version : Saxperience Essential Maintenance - Downtime!
Simo
12th September 2006, 16:25
All,
Saxperience will be taken offline in approx 1 hour in order to implement some essential maintenance.
The downtime may last for several hours, dependant upon how the implementation goes.
We'll be back online soon enough... so fear not.
Take some time out... visit your gran, take the dog for a walk, nip down to KFC for a Zinger Tower Meal, clear out your glove box and if you're really struggling for things to do there are one or two decent alternative forums knocking about... if you look hard enough ;)
See you on the other side. :A:

No updates, user functionality is virtually nothing, etc etc.

Urgh... AOL - I'm afraid there's nothing we can do to change AOLs system. Hopefully they'll update it at some point.

So it looks like i am using Sax off internet explorer for awhile then??
What do they have to do to let me back on?
Fecking AOL - i hate them!!

13th September 2006, 21:41
Using Internet Explorer (while not the most secure way of browsing the Web) is still ok. You're still using the AOL connection, just not the AOL browser.
I believe IE doesn't use the AOL proxy farm, and you get your Web sites without excessive filtering (and whatever else AOL do).
Nevermind all the recent privacy problems at AOL... I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

There are ways we can help to work around the GayOL issues, but it creates security issues and other unwanted things.
AOL are your internet provider... this doesnt mean you cant use someone elses internet tools... ie internet explorer, firefox, etc, etc.
There are many better web browsers than the AOL browser :ill:
b0t13

www.getfirefox.com
use that rather than IE..
then go here
www.ntl.co.uk
and get some decent broadband...

I noticed if you create 2 (maybe more?) threads in a forum it merges them together..? what the ??? What if someone made one thread about 2 complete differernt things in general discussion for example.. the comments would be all mixed up? seems a bit of a silly idea personally

I think he's talking about 2 threads that were started yesterday about South Park. Someone created a thread about a song in south park then another thread saying they found it, so I merged them. No point having them split.

Unless you're talking about an issue I have on my forum...
If you create a thread and then reply to it... it sometimes merges it with the original post when you didn't want it to?

I'm unsure, cause I posted 2 video links (one right after the other) - but it is possible I replied instead of new thread but I doubt it. Probley was merged by a moderator. Although it did happen instantly. Ah well i dunno but just giving the heads up

Quick moderation...
If you post 2 seperate threads, they stay seperate unless merged by a moderator.
