Lacquer peel

Is it possible to sand back and relaquer panels where the lacquer is Peeling? The xantia has really bad sunburn ;) and the lacquer has started peeling further on the roof. The bootlid needs a proper spray but I'd be happy if I could get away with flatting the paint and recoating it.


It would also help my wallet!
