Hi guys / girls

Had an odd experience in the saxo.. Ill give you a full explanation..

4 weeks ago i did a 200 mile trip to birmingham from newcastle, drove down perfectly fine, no issues.
Driving back up on M1 had a funny vibration when sticking at a speed.. example 40, 50, 60 etc.
A small brake or acceleration shake of the steering wheel stopped it.
Then this went away and thought nothing more of it.

Had and MOT and CV work done a week later, took another trip to birmingham and back to newcastle with no issues a week later.

Drove down on Thursday and the vibration was back after about 140 miles into the trip.
Driving steady and holding speeds of 50 through the roadworks and the vibration came back and this would not go away whilst trying to hold a certain speed.
Put foot down or brake the vibration slightly went away.
Dip the clutch fully and it goes away completely.

Lift the clutch and the vibration was back.

Any ideas on what this could be?

Could be the wheels need balancing,or a worn gearbox mount/s.

Wouldnt wheel balance be a constant vibration? It goes away when the clutch is down.
I think its more clutch related something loose or worn in that area?

Wheels balance usually comes at a certain speed.

I'd wager it'll be the gearbox mount on its way.

Thanks Mick, wouldnt that be picked up on the MOT?
The clutch feels fine its just the vibration when trying to hold a speed above 30mph, as soon as i was off the A38 and on normal roads with speeds up and down and turning left and right it was quiet and wasnt an issue.
Ive left the car at my Mums in Birmingham and going to take it to kwik fit down there on Thursday.. I will mention it could be gearbox mounting so they can look there first.

Just a heads up don't use kwik fit, take it to an independant garage.Kwik fit will have it up on the ramps and give a long list of things that don't need doing with a hefty price tag.
