So everyone's probably seen this on Facebook ?, looks like some clapped out 172
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/horrific-video-inside-speeding-car-6618250
They are making it out to be some sort of lesson for speeding and "having fun in your car"
Am I the only one sat here thinking that they're lucky they only killed there selfs and no one else the passenger let his mate drive who had no licence and they were both high on legal and illegal drugs.
Nature has its way imo
Obviously thoughts go out to family's and friends can't imagine what they must be going through.
But I think it should be more of a don't take drugs and drive at stupid speeds with no licence lesson, not boy racers speeding lesson
99.9% of people wouldn't do that anyway !
This is the kind of shit that the masses believe car enthusiasts do when they read shite like this.
Rant over been annoying me all day on Facebook.

Exactly.
A tin box + no licence + drugs + 90mph + built up area = ........:ill:

The video shows a clapped out whatever clio indeed, judging by the sound of it the driver is clearly ragging it. Certainly shouldn't be doing 90 in a what looks like a 40 ish area. Especially at night in poor grip conditions. Then no license + drugs = no insurance, when you play with fire, it may burn. And burn it did.
It happens a lot more that what the media cover. A year ago not far from my area, a kid killed his girlfriend and himself. Back roads at night and too much speed in a 1.1 106. Having driven that sort of car, I knew how he crashed, so driving around that bend and seeing those hundreds of flowers layed ain't exactly a good sight, but certainly a reminder.
Rip to those guys, too much silly too soon. I have some friends who went through that then were lucky enough to make it alive. Slow down kids, it ain't worth it.

Heard about this a little while ago as it only happened about a half an hour drive from mine - I've got a mate who lives a few miles from it. The driver went to my old school for a bit as well, although I only 'sort of' recognised him.
One of the binlids had a littlen themselves so got to feel for the family and the little girl who'll never know her Daddy was. Apart from that, they were both drinking, driver was stoned, had no license and was doing 3 times the speed limit. Not alot else you can say apart from that, really...
Respect to the family for releasing the footage to send out a message, although I have heard not all parties even did that, so you can't believe what's written in the papers I guess.

I started reading this article with twelve fucks, once I finished I had a dozen fucks. Can anyone calculate how many fucks I gave towards these dicks?
Bad move on the families behalf releasing the video, if it was without the drugs I would probably agree that its a sad loss, and its something we all do, but add drugs into the equation, and you've got a disaster from the start.

Well that's being a bit of a dick if you as me.
It was released to be a lesson to the young drivers out there to teach them a lesson. Not for people to be a dick about it.
Fair play to the parents for releasing it tbh. It wouldn't have been easy.

Its not a lesson if its plain stupidity. At no age, under any circumstances would I get behind the wheel of a car smashed off my tits, and if I did, doing 90 through a village wasn't on my list. Have you, or would you do it?

I've seen this story, and video on many different media platforms.
Some say he stole the car, some say he was on drugs, some say the lads were angels. Regardless, It's sad to see.
The fact his mate was actually saying slow down showed he wasn't too keen on that.
Prize prat award though for doing that speed through the residential area.
Got to say, the slow sound of the cracking glass got to me though.

:,)
Back in my day, cartoons didn't have any of the 'Don't try this at home' stuff on it, because it's common sense, if you do stupid stuff, stupid stuff going to happen.
No hope for tomorrows generation if they honestly believe they can't get hurt after fucking up in a car, even minor crashes can have serious injuries and outcomes. That said some of my younger peers are dense little shits.

Not a 172 that, 1.2 with filter or something i reckon. Speedo hasn't got the correct markings, plus 5k in 4th doing like 85-90? Lol no way!! Anyway nerdy babbling seaside, there will always be somebody trying to defend their actions etc, usually their fellow morons.
I've seen about 3 stories following the same theme this evening, car theif/high on drugs/stolen car/whatever crashes and all the idiots come out on Facebook with all the usual rhetoric about what angels they were

This one confuses me a bit to be honest.
I can totally understand 'why' folk are coming out with the things they've come out with - I've seen pretty much the full range of comments from defending them (which is stupid given what they were doing), all the way through to coming out with ridiculous comments about having zero sympathy for them and suggesting they 'deserved to die' for doing that (equally as stupid a comment to make).
I cant help but think that both these extremes totally miss the point. I seriously doubt that the families allowed the video to be released with the intention of letting thousands of us sit on the internet and pass judgement about their sons.
Me? I think what they did was stupid - but i'm certainly not going to be the one to preach about it.
I also think however that its a tragic loss of life and the mess it leaves behind is significantly greater than a broken down wall in the side of a building.

I don't have any sympathy for these pair at all, don't drugs/drink and drive, its a simple rule to follow. It's not even the fact that it's a rule, it's common sense for crying out loud.
Natural selection.

At the end of the day speed kills.
Really educating young drivers about high speed, impacts with stationery objects etc should be put into driving lessons/gaining your licence.
Its a shame to see anyone lose there lives, especially when so young.
I just hope new young or existing drivers who plan to speed like that realize whats at stake if you fuck it up.

Got to say the news article is complete bollocks. It happened in Crowborough (My hometown) not Rotherfield and crashed into a completely different church, not sure where these sites get there facts from. They may have driven through Rotherfield but they went all the way into Crowborough and up a road called Crowborough hill, deliberately with the intention of coming back down it at a stupid speed. The video has been cut about for some reason as it jumps between roads.
The article: "sounds of the crash in the quiet village of Rotherfield, just outside Crowborough, East Sussex, can be heard", "slammed into a low stone wall surrounding the graveyard of The Parish Church of Saint Denys Rotherfield"
The correct info from Sussex police: "On the video, the pair can be seen and heard laughing, chatting and singing as Michael appears to be giving Kyle a driving lesson as they pass through Rotherfield and on in to Jarvis Brook where their journey came to a tragic end. The car, travelling well in excess of the 30mph speed limit, careered off the B2100, smashing through a wall into the grounds of St Michael and All Saints church."
They had every intention of driving like turds going on that route and I'm glad no one else got hurt.

I certainly don't condone what they did,but its a sad and tragic loss of life that ultimately didn't need to end that way. Its the family and friends I feel for, I'm just thankful they didn't take anyone else with them,it could've been much worse with others involved.

At the end of the day speed kills.
No it doesn't, if it did them there would be no drag racing or F1 or any form of car racing, driving at inappropriate speeds within certain environments & usually hitting things kills. Unfortunately spouting such mantra falls straight into the trap laid out by car & speed haters.

Jeremy Clarkson sums it up rather well: "It's not the speed that kills you, it's the sudden lack of it"

Shit happens, neither of these two got in the car expecting to die but it's happened now and is sad but at least nobody else was injured.
Decisions have consequences one act of stupidity and two lives lost feel sorry for the family's and friends that have been left behind also for the emergency services that have to clean up after a fatal accident can't be plesent.
That's no 172 though it's got manual mirrors!

Shit happens,
there's looking at a turd knowing why you shouldn't step on it and then there's stepping on it deliberately, hoping that it won't stick. Then there's driving like a turd, on drugs without a licence or insurance in a clapped out piece of turd car. I think that goes beyond the element of chance, there's no such thing in this case as either being lucky or be dead.
That's the difference between grown ups and children. Luck hasn't got anything to do to it.

Not true they could have hit you in you're car and killed you and that would have been bad luck on you're part!

Notice you've chopped off the rest of my sentence where I said I wasn't going to be the one to preach about it.....
Significant difference in acknowledging that driving at speed in built up areas under the influence is a stupid thing to do and coming out with some of the things which lots of folk have.

Not true they could have hit you in *your car and killed you and that would have been bad luck on *your part!
No such thing as bad luck when someone else's fault has been clearly established, ragging a shitty little car while on drugs. To me, the concept of "bad luck" is unfounded superstition for simpletons. Also, events that never happened yet always start with "could have been this or that" are what they are: total fiction. Or you could have been prime minister, perish the thought.

If that had been a 172 or 182 they'd have just offed themselves quicker tbh
